This is just a reminder that with SQL Server 2008 the local Administrators group of a Windows server is no longer automatically given access to a SQL Server instance installed on that Windows server.

Keep this in mind when installing SQL Sentry for use with SQL Server 2008. Adding the service account to the local Administrators group for the repository server does not automatically grant the service user access to the repository database by default with SQL Server 2008 and up. Given that the service user does need dbo access to the repository database, it may be necessary to add the user or group to SQL Server security manually.
